It does not block screenshots of the small round thumbnail shown next to a name in a chat list, and it doesn't block screenshots of conversations, media, or anything else inside WhatsApp generally. Getting the Phone Number Format Right

• Drop any leading zero. Many countries prefix local numbers with a 0 that gets dropped once the country code is added. Include it by mistake and the lookup won't resolve.

So a UK contact saved in your phone as +44 07911 123456 should be entered as 447911123456: not +44 07911 123456 and not 4407911123456. The formatted contact you're used to seeing in your own address book is rarely the exact string this tool needs.

Blocking: a related but different mechanism

Inside the WhatsApp app itself, blocking has its own, separate effect. WhatsApp's own Help Center confirms that if Contact A blocks Contact B, B loses the ability to see A's profile photo, last seen, and status updates specifically because of the block: a mechanism that operates independently of whatever A's general Profile Photo privacy setting is otherwise set to.

Personal Numbers vs. WhatsApp Business Accounts

Business accounts resolve at a noticeably higher rate than personal ones, though not because of any special access this tool has. It comes down to incentives. • Deleted or deactivated accounts. Once someone deletes their WhatsApp account, their profile photo goes with it. A number that used to return a photo can stop working for this reason alone.
• Recently reassigned numbers. Mobile carriers recycle inactive numbers after a dormancy period that varies by country and operator. A reassigned number can briefly show stale data, or nothing at all, before settling once the new owner sets up their own account.

None of these produce a message specifying which of the four applies (the public-facing result is the same blank placeholder either way), so if a lookup comes back empty for a number you're confident is correct and active, it's worth trying again after confirming the digits once more.
