Why the Homepage Sent Your Link Here

The homepage box doesn't download anything itself. It reads the web address of whatever you paste and opens the page built for that platform: an instagram.com link goes to the Instagram downloader, a fb.watch link to the Facebook one, and so on. Your link is carried across so you never paste it twice.

A link only comes here when its address isn't one the homepage matches to a platform page. The usual reasons are ordinary ones, like a shortened link from a service such as bit.ly, or the address of an article that has a video embedded in it. This page runs the same download engine as every platform page, so tapping Download is the right next step either way. If it doesn't work, the next two sections cover the fix for each case.

Most failed downloads trace back to the link itself rather than the video. Here's what each common case looks like and how to fix it:

Which Link Is the Right One?

Nearly every app gives you two addresses for the same video: the one in the Share menu, and whatever the browser's address bar happens to show. Use the Share menu's Copy link. It points at that single post, while the address bar can show a feed position, a search result, or a tracking wrapper around the real address.

• In an app: tap the Share icon on the post and choose Copy link. If the menu lists apps to share to and a separate Copy link option, pick Copy link.
• In a desktop browser: open the post so it's the only thing on screen, then copy the address bar.
• Carousels and multi-video posts: one link covers the whole post. The result lists every item in it separately.
• Videos embedded on other sites: use the player's platform logo or its "Watch on" link to reach the original post, then copy that post's link.

What You Get Back: Video, Audio, or Photos

This tool doesn't ask what kind of file you want before fetching. It reads what the link actually contains and lists exactly that: a single video, every photo in a carousel, an audio track, or a mix of them. Each item gets its own Save button, so you can take one file and leave the rest.

Quality isn't picked for you either. Where the platform stores more than one resolution, every option is listed. Whichever you choose is the same file the platform serves, at the same resolution and bitrate, never re-encoded or upscaled on the way through. A clip uploaded at 480p stays 480p, because no tool can add detail that was never recorded.

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

1. Copy the Link: In the app the video is in, tap its Share button and tap Copy Link.
2. Paste It Here: Come back to this page in Safari, paste the link into the box, and tap Download. If you came from the homepage, the link is already there.
3. Save to Photos: Tap Save and confirm Safari's download prompt. The file goes to the Downloads folder in the Files app; to move a video into Photos, open it there, tap the Share icon, and choose Save Video.

Android (Chrome & Samsung Internet)

1. Copy the Link: Tap Share on the post in its app, then Copy link.
2. Paste It Here: Come back to this page in Chrome or Samsung Internet, paste the link, and tap Download.
3. Find It in Gallery: Tap Save. The file lands in your phone's Download folder and shows up in your Gallery app without any extra step.

Desktop (Chrome, Firefox, Safari & Edge)

1. Copy the Address: Open the post on its own and copy the address bar, or use the post's Copy link option.
2. Paste It Here: Paste it into the box on this page and click Download.
3. Save the File: Click Save. It goes to your Downloads folder, or your browser asks where to put it if you've set it to ask every time.

When Download Shows an Error

An error doesn't automatically mean the platform isn't supported. Before giving up on a link, work through these in order:

1. Open the link in a private or incognito window. If it asks you to log in, the post isn't public, and no downloader can reach it.
2. Check the box holds only the link. It should start with https:// with nothing before or after it.
3. Swap a short link for the full one. Open it, let it load, and paste the address it lands on.
4. Try once more after a few seconds. A platform sometimes fails to answer one request and answers the next one fine.
5. Still failing? The post may have been removed, limited to certain countries, or come from a source this tool doesn't handle.

YouTube links show their own message straight away rather than a general error, since YouTube isn't supported anywhere on this site.

Downloading vs. Reposting: Where the Legal Line Sits

Saving a public post for personal, offline viewing is broadly treated as fair use in most places. The legal problems start with what happens after the file is on your device: re-uploading someone else's footage as your own, monetizing it without permission, or cutting out the original creator's credit.

Those are copyright issues no matter which tool fetched the file. The creator keeps ownership of what they posted, whoever has a copy of it. Downloading a file changes where it lives, not who owns it.
